Besides urging the government to streamline the excise duty, these associations have also called the government to look on the following matters:
- Streamline the road taxes for diesel and petrol-powered cars as the prices for non-subsidized diesel and petrol are now almost the same.
- To waive import duties on raw material to produce motor vehicle parts and components in order to lower the prices of parts and components supplied to vehicle manufacturers and assemblers.
- To provide more incentives and other benefits for motor vehicle manufacturers who wish to set up their manufacturing plants in Malaysia. This move will promote the production of pick-ups, bigger capacity and luxury cars and hybrid and eco-friendly cars.
